Sarah’s Maternity Photoshoot

Here are some additional photos from the maternity shoot that I shot yesterday (and talked about in yesterday’s blog entry).  It was a learning experience for me as a photographer, and a challenge at times to get the two dogs (or rather Brewster) to cooperate, but it was a lot of fun and I think we got some keepers in the bunch.   Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.

The first part of the session we were attempting to get some photos of just Sarah and the dogs.  Brewster wasn’t wanting anything to do with it, so the first few shots were just of Milton and Sarah.  Milton was ever so happy just to lay by his mom’s side.  Milton was their “first child,” and as you can tell is the biggest cuddle bug ever.

We were finally able to get Brewster’s attention for the belly kissing photos that Sarah wanted.

Then we even rounded him up for some family shots.

Finally getting Brewster’s attention…

This photo would have been perfect had Sarah and Larry been ready for it.  I absolutely love Milton’s expression but unfortunately I snapped this too soon so Sarah’s hands aren’t relaxed and ready yet.

Baby George should be here in just a few weeks.  Maybe I’ll get to take some newborn photos of him when he arrives :)

Day 74: Another Day at the Park & Mini-Photoshoot

Today was just a normal day.  I worked.  I came home.  I took Bailey to the park.  During the warm months, this becomes our every day schedule assuming it isn’t raining.  Bailey falls quickly into the habit in that every day around 5 o’clock, it is time for the park.  As it nears “park time,” any move I make, he darts for the door with a look like “It’s time to gooooo!”  or whenever he hears my phone’s text alert, he perks up knowing that it was probably a text from our doggy friends saying they are ready to go.

So as per our usual park day, we met up with Gaston and Fiona.  I don’t think I’ve ever talked about Fiona too much here in our blog, but in addition to Gaston, she is the dog that Bailey sees most regularly.

I used a good portion of park time today to photograph Fiona.  Another friend has asked me to take maternity photos of her, her husband and two dogs.  I am taking them this weekend, and both of her dogs are black, so I wanted to squeeze in a little “black dog photography” practice.

Please excuse the monotonousness of the photos.  There are some tennis courts right next to where we take the dogs to play and they are currently doing tons of construction on them so the scenery isn’t the prettiest right now.  As a result I had to keep a grassy background in all the photos.

Why I Miss Living in Jersey…

Straight and Simple – Boston isn’t nearly this pretty.

These photos were taken this evening in the peach orchard behind our house.  The trees are blossoming and paired with the gorgeous sunlight you get as the sun is setting, it made for some beautiful photos.  The horses belong to our neighbors.

A Day of Photos from Castle Island

So here are more photos from today’s outing at Castle Island.  I had so much fun today taking pictures, and it’s always nice to be able to expand my subject matter a little bit.  While we were out, Chelsea (Fenway’s Mom) mentioned how she never has any photos of her and Fenway together, so I took it on myself to turn today’s outing into a photoshoot of her and Fenway.  I think that I got some pretty good shots :)

In addition to me having fun with my camera, it was a blast just to walk around with the dogs.  There were so many people and dogs out and about and it was just a beautiful day to be outside.  The dogs played, and walked, and posed and had tons of fun :)

So there is a story behind the last photos of Bailey in the tree.  They had some of those trees up on the hill and they just looked so cool with their winding, twisting branches.  So before we left, I wanted to go up there for some pictures.  I realized when we got up close that it would be difficult to capture their “coolness” in photos up close.  Craig made a silly suggestion about putting Bailey in the tree for the photos, and of course I was like “Yes!  Lets do it!”  Bailey was a good sport about it and sat in the tree despite being super confused as to why we stuck him up there.  Best part of all, he stayed perfectly still for the photos because he had nowhere to go :P

Well that’s it.  This is the first time in a while that I have had such a hard time choosing between photos to post.  I think today was a pretty successful outing and photoshoot :)
